Ok, so its been a little while since i posted up anything. THIS is the best possible way i know how to make a come back to regular postings. I managed to snag Mattel’s upcoming Damian Wayne action figure. Originally intended to be released as part of their Batman Unlimited line, this figure was instead added to Mattel’s final Club Infinite Earths wave as their subscription program for 2014 was unable to come into fruition. So how does this figure stack up when comparing it to past DC Universe Classics figures? Hit the jump to find out!
Well, I think I can safely say this is one of the best issues of any book from DC this year. I have to admit though, it took some time for me to really get excited about this book again. This issue seems to hit the right notes at the right times for me, especially on the role that Alfred plays. A lot of my complaints on this book post Damian’s death have been about it’s seemingly loss of direction. With Batman Inc ended, I believe this book can get back on track and truly serve up the story it’s been waiting to tell for the last six months or so.
Some of my favorite Batman stories have come out of the head of a Mr. Paul Dini, from The Animated Series to his run Detective, I’ve enjoyed a ton of Paul Dini’s work and any throw back to those awesome stories is a welcome rush of nostalgia. And so here we are again for the first time this month we have our new installment of Li’l Gotham and yes, it continues to be wonderfully nostalgic.
Ok, so here we go into the belly of the beast so to speak. Grant Morrison’s run is at an end and I have not been more excited for any other run’s end. I must say however that this issue brought many things to a speeding close and others who have not yet been shown an end for seem to have little room in the next issue for a proper send off. With Chris Burnham’s issue #11 back in May we got a stand alone story in an awkward place and time, as a result a story which seemed to be dragging a bit now seems to be coming to a speeding halt.
So, in much lighter news these days…….. I want to give you guys my opinions of the newest and possibly best LEGO set in quite some time; The Arkham Asylum breakout set!
Fathers Day may be a week away but that does not stop this holiday themed issue of Li’l Gotham from delivering some always welcome fun. So, anyone ever wonder how a family dinner with the Al Ghuls could go? or perhaps you’ve had the thought of Batman and the Robins cooking in the kitchen? well then, this is an issue not to be missed. Also, stick around in the overview for a brief personal story that made my week last Wednesday.
